AutoScroll Comments for YouTube screenshot

Watch the video. Read the comments. At the same time.

AutoScroll Comments is a Chrome extension that shows YouTube's comment section in a side panel next to the player, drifting through the comments at a calm, readable pace — no more scrolling down, losing the video, and scrolling back up.

When a comment catches your eye, hover over the panel and the scrolling pauses instantly; like, reply, or expand threads as usual, and it resumes when you move away. Five adjustable speeds, auto-pause while the video is paused, and it gets out of the way entirely in fullscreen. These are YouTube's real comments, not a copy — replies, likes, and sorting all work exactly like the normal page.

No data collection, no tracking, no network requests. The only permission is storage, used to remember your scroll speed.

Where it stands

Packaged at v0.1.0 and headed for the Chrome Web Store. Until it lands there, grab it from the repo, run npm run build, and load the dist/ folder as an unpacked extension.

Any idea here is yours to take.

If something clicks — or you want to build on one of these — email me at hsk.coder@gmail.com. I'd rather see an idea live than keep it in a drawer.
